“You do not belong to the future or the past -You belong right here.”
Rupi Kaur
When we spend time ruminating over our past or trying to control our future, our perspective narrows. We become blinded to the possibilities of a brighter and more manageable future. The present moment is where change is possible, and this is where the real work happens. In my experience, change is scary and can cause us to feel vulnerable but more often than not, it opens up the door for growth and transformation. My role as a therapist is to work with you as a partner in this journey towards self discovery.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New Jersey and graduated with a Master’s of Science in Social Work from Rutgers University and also earned a BA in Studio Art with a minor in Art History from Stockton University. I have a wide range of experience as a case manager and therapist working individually and in group settings with children, adolescents, adults and families. I also have experience working with a wide range of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, and sexual abuse. I received my training in DBT from Shaelene Lauriano, DBT-LBC and Kathryn Patrick, DBT-LBC. Something else that is important to me both personally and professionally to maintain a commitment to antiracist, LGBTQIA+ allied practices.
I’m excited to share that I will soon be offering Autism and ADHD assessments at DBT of South Jersey! As a neurodivergent therapist, I know firsthand how validating it can be to work with someone who truly understands your experience from the inside out. Getting assessed by someone who “gets it” can make the process feel less clinical and more like a collaborative journey of self-discovery. My approach is all about embracing who you are, while helping you uncover the unique ways your brain works.
Being neurodivergent myself, I recognize that traditional assessments can sometimes feel rigid or even uninviting. I aim to offer a space where your quirks, strengths, and challenges are not just accepted, but celebrated. Together, we’ll explore your unique traits in a way that feels supportive and affirming.
Whether you’re seeking clarity, looking for answers, or simply want to better understand how your brain operates, I’m here to guide you in a warm, understanding way. You’re not alone, and I believe everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood in their neurodivergence.
I believe strongly in the importance of building deep connections with individuals to assist in creating a space that is conducive to trust, encouragement, and positive results. I consider it an honor and privilege to join you on your healing journey. If you are ready to get started, I am here and cannot wait to meet you.
