Gender-Affirming Letter Services in South Jersey

Gender affirming care with DBT of South Jersey

At DBT of South Jersey, we believe everyone deserves access to compassionate, affirming care. For many transgender and non-binary individuals, a gender-affirming letter is an important step toward accessing hormone therapy, gender-affirming surgery, or navigating insurance requirements. Our clinicians are here to make this process clear, compassionate, and free of unnecessary barriers, so you can focus on living authentically.

Our clinicians provide letters for:

  • Hormone therapy (GAHT)
  • Gender-affirming surgeries (such as chest, top, or other procedures)
  • Documentation requested by medical providers or insurance companies

We proudly support clients at every stage of their gender-affirming journey.

Our Approach: Acceptance, Change, and Compassion

  • Affirming and non-pathologizing: We respect and support your identity without gatekeeping.
  • Accessible and client-centered: We strive to make the process straightforward and stress-free.
  • Professional and efficient: Letters are clear, comprehensive, and typically provided shortly after the session.
  • Rooted in DBT values: We bring empathy, validation, and collaboration into every session.

Preparing for Your Appointment

  • Bring any forms or requirements from your medical provider or insurance company.
  • Consider your goals (hormones, surgery, or both) and any questions you’d like to discuss.
  • Know that this is a collaborative process; your voice and needs are central.

What to Expect During Your Evaluation

One-Hour Assessment
You’ll meet with one of our affirming clinicians for a 60-minute appointment (in-person or virtual). This is a safe space to share your story, your goals, and your needs.

Thoughtful Clinical Documentation

Following your assessment, we provide a professional, supportive letter that meets the standards your medical provider or insurance company requires. Our goal is to deliver your letter promptly and without unnecessary barriers.

Ongoing Support (Optional)

While many clients only need a single assessment for their letter, we also offer ongoing therapy and DBT-informed care if you’d like continued support beyond the evaluation.
