It’s okay to be scared. Being scared means you’re about to do something really, really brave.”

Kris Bendinelli

Taking that first step into treatment can cause a lot of anxiety and fear. It is a brave act to take that leap and ask for help. It is important to me that as you seek treatment and are vulnerable that I create an environment that feels safe, non-judgmental, and leads to change. I entered the field after graduating from the College of New Jersey in 2014 with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Since graduating I have worked with a wide population between my work in ICMS, co-occurring disorders, and Women’s Trauma Program. Throughout my work I have helped many clients who are struggling with issues related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self – worth, impulsive behaviors, and feeling desperate to find a way for life to be different. I feel thankful that I am able to be a part people’s lives and help them make the difference that they seek to build a life worth living.

I have been with the DBT of South Jersey since it opened in 2018. I hold a LPC license with the state of New Jersey since 2017, am a Nationally Certified Counselor – NCC, am an Approved Clinical Supervisor – ACS, and am foundationally trained in dialectical behavioral therapy by Dr. Essie Larson. I received intensive and advanced training in Prolonged Exposure Treatment for PTSD within the DBT model with Dr. Melanie Harned. I am also a part of a small group of Linehan Board Certified DBT Clinicians in New Jersey and am proud to be.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending my free time being active! I like completing Spartan races, crafting, reading, and spending time with my family and pets.
