“No more apologies for a bleeding heart when the opposite is no heart at all. Danger of losing our humanity must be met with more humanity”.
– Toni Morrison

Headshot of Kelty Stanton, Intern

This quote resonates with me because I believe our sensitivity, compassion, and capacity to care deeply are not sources of weakness to overcome, but parts that make us human. Therapy can be a place to reconnect with those parts of ourselves- in finding our voice, recognizing our strengths, and learning we don’t have to make ourselves smaller.

I hope to help individuals who are feeling disconnected from themselves, have difficulty setting boundaries, may struggle with self-criticism, or anyone who needs a safe space for someone to listen. My goal is that clients feel empowered and are able to recognize the strengths that already lie within them, as we navigate your story together. My approach is collaborative, in which I will meet you where you are, and support you along the way.

I’m a current graduate student at The College of New Jersey in the clinical mental health counseling program. I’ve received my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Rutgers University. I come from a background working in an inpatient setting, which has given me a deeper understanding of how to better support individuals during a vulnerable point in their life. I have my own lived experience dealing with depression and anxiety, and started my journey to healing in high school. What I’ve gathered from working with my therapist during that time, is that you do not have to suffer in silence. Healing rarely happens in isolation, and there is strength in seeking support.

When I’m not working with clients, you can find me crocheting, reading, drawing, journaling, at the movie theatre, and at the antique stores in Lambertville. I also love to frequent places with scenic views, such as Goat Hill.
